Every bird that clocks in on Loft Master Systems now has its Yards Per Minute speed calculated automatically, to three decimal places, the moment the result is recorded -- shown live on both the loft kiosk and the club portal during a race. Automatic velocity calculation isn't new to this sport -- established timing systems have handled the math for years. What's different here is that it's built into the same system tracking that bird's whole record: medical history, breeding, race results, and standings, so there's no separate device to buy or spreadsheet to reconcile after the fact. Velocity now feeds directly into standings and Hall of Fame stats too, so a bird's speed history is part of its permanent record, not a number you calculate once and forget.
